ELECTRIC CABLE FUSES
At the corner of Queen Street and Customs Street, about midnight last night, the fusing of an electric cable under the footpath caused dense clouds of smoke to come up through the bitumen. About 12.30 a.m., when there were several people watching the Are, there was a loud explosion, and flames began to come through the pavement. A watch was then kept until the trouble was completely rectified.
