MR. J- McCLUGGAGE Mr Joseph McCluggage, one of the old pioneers of the Whangamomona district, has died at Stratford. Mr. McCluggage opened a store there soon land was selected, and was closely'associated with the district for many years.—P-A. MR. ALFRED DENT The death of Mr. Alfred Dent, of Whangarei, occurred yesterday. Mr. Dent was born in Whangarei in 1872 and had lived in the district all his life He had been employed at varous times by the Borough Council. He s survived by two sons and three daughters. One son died as the result of war Injuries. • MR. J- M. ROBERTS The death has occurred of Mr John Macintosh Roberts, N.Z.C.. at Rotorua. He was the oldest veteran of New Zealand's wars, and was born at Bombay, India in 1840. He arrived in the Dominion in 1555. and served with distinction in the Maori wars, afterwards holding important civil positions as warden and magistrate. He retired in 1909 to his home at Rotorua. He leaves two sons and two daughters.
