Canadian Liquor Interests Charged with Bribing Courts and Government
(Australian and If.Z. Press Association) Received 9.26 a.m. TORONTO, Wednesday. CHARGING the liquor interests with bribing the courts of justice and the Governinent, Mrs. Flora Haskett addressed a meeting* of the Provincial Council of the t\ omen s Christian Temperance Union. “The sooner the Government stores are bankrupt, the quicker will the Governinent be successful. The liquor interests are growing so wealthy that they buy officers and even control the Governments themselves. The Council will pray for Mr. 11. C. Hoover’s success in the United States Presidential election.
