Burglars’ Busy Night Eight attempts were made to force the entrance to separate shops in Victoria Street, Hamilton, on Tuesday evening, although no shop was entered. Doors and locks bear evidence of having been tampered with. Thomas Joseph Spalding was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for obtaining goods under false pretences at Okaito and Palmerston North. • • m Delegates Impressed The Imperial Forestry delegates, who returned north by special train yesterday, inspected the City Corporation’s afforestation work, which they praised warmly. They were greatly Impressed with the planting of such a large area, over 5,000 acres, with another 5.000 acres available.
