CLAIM AGAINST TAKAPUNA COUNCIL

ALLEGED DAMAGE BY WATER Claiming that their properties in Takapuna were subject to damage by water as the result of the laying ot a drain pipe in King Edward Avenue two ratepayers sought compensation in the Supremo Court this morning from the Takapuna Borough Council. The claimants were Edward McLeod, who claimed a total of £3ll in respect of five sections, and Curtis Robert Armiger, who asked for £SO for his one section. Mr. Justice Smith, who presided, had associated with him Messrs. T. Hanna and Greville Walker, assessors for the claimants and respondents respectively. Mr. J. B. Johnstons appeared for the claimants and Mr. Lowrie for respondents. After hearing preliminaries, the court adjourned to inspect the properties. (Proceeding.)
