Kay, Dunedin, beat Miss Ache'jan, Nelson, in the final of the South lackland ladies' golf championship ala morning. 1 up. Miss Ksy won because of a stymie on the last green. The match was a splendid one. Miss Aeheson holding the advautage most of the way. She was two-up at one stage, and fortunes fluctuated considerably. though Miss Kay never secured i lead until, going to the 18th all square, she laid a stymie and won the title. links in good order N.Z. The Balmacewen links are in fine order for the New Zealand Golf Championships, which commence to-mor-row, but the dry weather has made the ground very hard. The greens are very fast and competitors will np doubt find them troublesome. The open championship, wrhieh Is decided by four rounds of medal play, will taks place to-morrow and on Saturday concurrently with the qualifying rounds of the amateur and professional , hampionships.
