AUCKLAND GUN CLUB

CLAY BIRD MATCHES Despite the bad weather prevailing, there was a fair attendance at the clay bird open matches, held by the" Auckland Gun Club yesterday. Two £SO matches were shot off under most difficult conditions, the strong gale making shooting extremely hard. There were SI competitors from all parts of tha Auckland Province. The first match was won by A. E. Macredie, Auckland (16yds). with 20 kills out of a possible 2J.. C. Seddon. Hamilton (16yds), J. MeCready, Otorohanga (12yds), and A. Hannigan, Auckland (11yds), divided second and third money with 19 out of 21. The second match, which was shot in heavy rain and conditions which were even harder than in the first match, resulted in a tie between F. Hazard, Auckland. (12yds), D. S. Ewing, Auckland (12yds), and P. Jelavich, Hamilton (12yds), with 18 out of 21 birds.
