Viscount Lascelles Intercedes For Culprits in Portumna Fire
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Received 10 a.m. LONDON, 'Wednesday. VJSCOUNT LASCELLES has intimated to the Free State Government that Princess Mary and he deeply regretted even indirectly causing suffering to anyone in Ireland, and therefore they hoped a way would be found by which no vindictive action would be taken against the misguided persons who were suspected of starting the fire at Portumna. These persons might have considered that the visit had political significance.
