IRAQ COMMISSIONER
SIR G. CLAYTON CHOSEN British Official 'Wireless Reed. 11.25 a.m. RUGBY, Monday. Brigadier-General Sir Gilbert Clayton has been appointed High Commissioner for Iraq, in succession to Sir Henry Dobbs, who will vacate that office early next year. Sir Gilbert Clayton is a foremost authority on Egyptian and Arabian affairs. He recently conducted the negotiations on behalf of Britain w\i Ibn Saud, ruler of the Hedjaz and Nedj, on questions affecting the Iraq and trans-Jordan frontiers.
