GARAGE GOSSIP
Our idea of an optimist is a man who tries twice to paint his own car himself and make it look like new. Oil and grease are much cheaper than new bearings. Anyone can “tread on the gas.” but nicety'of control is altogether distinct. Keeping the car cool isn’t half as important nowadays as keeping the driver cool. You can always fix a burned motor, but undertakers fix things a little too permanently. * * * Nasilai Beach, Fiji, from which the “Southern Cross” took off on the last leg of her trans-Pacific flight, is a wonderful natural racing track. Members of the Suva Motor Cycle Club recently explored it for a a race meeting and an excellent straight of 1£ miles perfectly smooth, was decided upon. • * * Crossley Motors, Limited, of Manchester, have entered the passenger vehicle field, and are now producing a 32-34 seater bus, which will be known as the Crossley “Eagle.” As is to be expected from a concern with their reputation, this new Crossley vehicle is up-to-date in every respect, and it is confidently anticipated that it will win a prominent place for itself among municipalities and bus users in general.
