FIRE AT OTAHUHU

HOUSE BADLY DAMAGED About 9 o’clock last evening a fiveroomed house in Albert Street. Otahuhu, owned by Mr. Charles Jamieson, was badly damaged by fire. When the Otahuhu Fire Brigade arrived the flames had a strong hold, but the brigade was able to save the place from being completely destroyed. It is believed that the fire started in the ceiling of the kitchen. The insurances are held by the Government under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement scheme.
