Just a shade of disappointment appeared in his face, but it quickly gave place to a broad grin, as, catching sight of Mr. C. T. Keegan, a Varsity Club official, in the launch, the All Black threequarter shouted down his congratulations to the Varsity representative. He was told that it teas only after two great games had been played that his team, fighting every inch of the way, had finally gone down with its colours flying. With that the Ponsonby leader was content.
