FROZEN MEAT MARKET
The London office of the Bank of New Zealand advises business at the close of last week as follows: — “Frozen Meat.—The market has declined for wethers and the demand is very poor. There is only a poor demand for ewes. The market is dull for lambs and has a downward tendency. Trade in beef is slow generally owing to heavy supplies of fresh meat, but prospects are more favourable. “Wethers, light, 7d to 7?d a lb; heavy, «d to 62d; ewes, 5d to Gd; lambs, twos, Td to lOJd: eights. lOd to 10}d; fours, 9;d to 9Jd; seconds, 9i to 9£d. Ox binds, 5d to sid: fores, s|d to 4d; cow hinds, 4}d to sd; fores. 3}d to 3>.d.”
