PLOT MISCARRIED?

POLICE AND LABOUR LEADER (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Saturday. It is understood that the Leader of the Labour Party, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, has sent a protest to the Home Office against the publication of what he describes as a secret and confidential police report on his own activities in 1916-21. The “Daily Express” says that if it was thought to repeat the incident of the Zinovieff letter the plot has completely miscarried. There must always be a black mark against Mr. MacDonald’s name in that he gave comfort to an enemy instead of his own country, but let the coming election be kept clear of personalities, red herrings and Red letters.
