Turkey’s New Alphabet Taught In Casinos and Coffee-Houses
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association J (United Service J Reed. 10.10 a.in. CONSTANTINOPLE, Sunday. EVERY inhabitant of Angora, man, woman and child, must attend special courses at extempore schools in coffeehouses, casinos and other places of amusement, to learn the new latinised alphabet, the instructors being ministers, and members of the Chamber of Deputies, highbrows, superintended bv President Mustapha Ivemal. „ One of three officers who were arrested at Broussa for disparaging the alphabet is to be imprisoned for a year. The others were acquitted.
