Dr. North went South last evening by the Limited. Dr. Anderson arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. F. W. Brinsden, a member of the Auckland City Council, underwent a serious operation in a private hospital on Friday. _ Mr. Beaumont Smith, of J. C. Williamson Films, arrived from Wellington this morning, and will leave for Sydney by the Niagara. Professor Riddett, of the Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North. wa*» a guest at to-day’s luncheon of the Auckland Rotary Club. Mr. J- IB Chalmers, who was recently appointed chief passenger foreman at the Auckland Railway Station, took up his new duties this morning. Professor Hugh Corbin. Professor of Forestry at the Auckland University College, left by train last evening for Wellington. He will probably return about Wednesday. Bishop F. Darnand, of Samoa, who has been staying with Bishop Cleary since his return from the Kucharistic Congress, left for the South by train last evening to make a tour of the Dominion.
