BABY’S FOREHEAD CUT DRUNKARD GAOLED FOR ASSAULT On Saturday evening James B. Stewart, of Te Papapa, got drunk and when ha reached his home threw a glass tumbler at his wife. The griass missed her, but bit a child in her arms below the eye, causing blood to flow freely. Constable Hinton was called In, when Stewart turned on all the gas and threatened to “do them all In.’* Sergeant J. A. Cruickshank handed in a long list of previous convictions in the Onehunga Police Court this morning. Stewart pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife and child, and was sentenced by the presiding Justices, Messrs. J. E. Green and S. C. Soar, to 14 days on each of two charges, the terms to be cumulative.
