MUNICIPAL CONCERT
BAND PROGRAMME An enjoyable concert was given by the Auckland Municipal Band under the direction of Mr. Christopher Smith at the Town Hall on Saturday evening. Band items, which were warmly received, included selections from "The Jewels of the Madonna” and “Virginia" (Haydn-Wood) ; "March Militaire” (Thome); “Oberon” (Weber); "La Boutique Fantasque,” “Evensong” (Easthope Martin); and the fantasia. “Reminiscences of the Plantation.” Three vocal numbers, "The Lute Player,” "King Charles,” and "The Fortune Hunter,” were contributed in pleasing manner by Mr. Stan Pritchard. Several enjoyable instrumental numbers weer also given by Messrs. Hal. C. McLennan, flautist, and Fred Bowers, cornetist. Mr. Leo A\ hittaker acted as accompanist.
