WIRELESS ON CHINESE SHIPS Much, interest has been aroused in shipping circles on the China coast by the announcement that the directors of ihe China Merchants* Steam Navigation Company have decided to equip all their vessels with wireless (states the “Syren and Shipping”). Apparatus has already been ordered, and the work of installation will be started in the near future. This decision is noteworthy in view of the fact that the China merchants will be the first Chinese shipping company to reomrnise the necessity or so fitting their ships. It is Tinderstood that the constant piracies have had agreat deni to do with the action taken by the directors.
