ELDERLY DELEGATE LOST FROM SHIP

MISSING FROM NIAGARA On the evening before the Niagara arrived at Honolulu, it was discovered that an elderly member of the ScottishAustralian delegation was missing from the ship. The missing man was Mr. S. Mott, who was accompanied by his niece, and was travelling second-class. He was never seen again, and it is presumed that he was lost at sea during the night. Mr. Mott’s fellow-passengers are at a loss to account for the happening. They say that he was a quiet and apparently happy man, although it is declared that he seemed depressed for some days before his absence was discovered. With the missing man went practically all his personal papers, his passport and a roll of bank notes. He was wearing a watch that he prized highly, and he is reported to have said, the day before, that it was being kept safely to pass on to his nephew.
