FREIGHT ON WHALE OIL
MAT AM AT A, Sunday. The Matamata Chamber of Commerce has written to the Minister of Railways asking that the freight on whale oil be reduced from class D to class E. It is stated that whale oil is used by farmers solely for feeding stock, and therefore should not he on the higher grade of chargee.
