OPOTIKI STOCK SALES
Press Association OPOTIKI, Saturday. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report on the monthly stock sale held in the Opotiki saleyards on Thursday as follows; We had a large yarding of cattle, our entry being 313 head. There was a large attendance of buyers, and practically everything was sold under the hammer. With keen competition prices were on a par with the previous sale. No sheep were entered. Prices were: Grown steers, £8 to £lO 10s; two-year steers, £7 10s to £8 ss; one-year steers, £5 to £6 9s; fat cows, £lO to £lO 10s; forward costs, £5 16s to £6 ss; store cows, £3 to £4 ss; springing heifers, £6 to £9 10s; yearling heifers, £3 to £4 16s. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Limited, report: We had a full yarding of cattle, most of which were of inferior quality, and a small yarding of sheep. Prices were:— Sheep, shorn, 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 265; woolly wethers, 34s 9d. Cattle: Threeyear steers to £7 17s 6d; two-year steers to £6 10s; yearlings, £2 15s; two-year dairy heifers, £4 Is; fat cows to £7 10s; store cows, £3 15s to £5; yearling heifers, £3. Pigs: Stores to 37s 6d.
