PASSED VALUELESS CHEQUES
THREE ADDITIONAL CHARGES Press Association . DANNEVIRKE. Friday. George Edward Bernsec. a young married man at present in custody for cheque frauds, appeared before justices to-day on three additional charges of obtaining money on false pretences by means of valueless cheques. The amount involved was £ 31. Accused tendered cheques signed “James Gray,” the name of his former employer, since dead, to two hotel licensees and to a shopkeeper, receiving substantial change in each case. He pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
