LONE GUNNER CAUGHT
WARLIKE HIBERNIAN WAGED SOLITARY STRIFE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Recd. Noon. LONDON, Friday. The Cork civic guards have at last captured Cornelius Healy, the oneeyed gunner, charged on two counts of attempts to murder policemen, and with other offences during disturbances. Healy was the one man of the army who perambulated the country, waging solitary war. He carried on his shoulder a machine-gun which he dubbed “Lizzie,” and started a fight wherever he thought fit. He alertly eluded the police, owing to his phenomenal running power. He was captured without resistance when he was surprised by a posse of police which surrounded his home.
