GREAT OIL DEAL
COMPANIES GET TOGETHER RISE IN PRICE LIKELY (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. The “Evening Standard” says plans have been completed for closer cooperation between the Royal Dutch Shell, the Anglo-Persian and the Burma oil companies. The combined capital of these companies is at present worth £400,000,000. The deal omits Russia, because it refused to recognise the rights of those companies whose properties were seized by the Soviet. It will probably be followed by a rise in the price of petrol.
