British naval school.—The Ouke of York will on October 26 lay the foundation-stone of the Holbrook -javal School, the gift of Mr. G. S. tteade, of Auckland.—Times cable. yALSH ISLAND DOCK. —The first Action, comprising the main midship Portion, of the new floating dock being constructed at Walsh Island, Newcastlc, was launched yesterday by the -New South Wales Premier, Mr. T. R. Bavin. The bow portion should be ready for launching by Christmas, and the balance about August next. The total cost will be £. 410,000. BLASTING FATALITY. During lasting operations at the Bunnerong Power station site New South Wales, Yesterday, four men were somehow caught in a pump pit when one shot w as fired and a quantity of stone fell an them. William Holt was fatally ujured. Martin Kenny was critically injured and John Ryan and Matthew less seriously hurt. All are carried men.
