THE TRIUMPH AT WORK gERT EDWARDS, the wellknown breeder, Has been off the scene at Otahuhu for over three weeks with a severe attack of influenza, but he made a reappearance with some members of his team this week. Man-at-Arms, the four-year-old son of Man-o’-War and Canzonetta, is a real aristocrat in every way, and in a bout with Biair Audubon showed fine sprinting ability, with opening brilliance. Blair Audubon, who is driven in his work by Miss Nancy Edwards, is also hitting out with freedom. The Triumph is also in work, and showing great dash, and it is quite on the cards that he will shortly race in the colours of a wellknown and popular Auckland owner.
ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT True Facts. You are right in your contention. Marble Star has not won 3.29 2-5, but recorded this time when he dead-heated with Elzean for second money behind Tamerlane on the final day of the Auckland Christmas fixture in 1926. At that meeting R. Millen’s trotter won the first day in 3.36 2-5 off a 3.40 mark, and on the second day from 3.36 tramped 3.33 2-5 for third money. He was handicapped again on 3.36 when he recorded 3.29 2-5, and certainly has a good let-up in being now placed on 3.35.
