“Jew Suss ” on the Stage

MATHESON LANG’S RETURN After an absence of three years from the West End stage, Matheson Lang has returned and is playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the first of a series of plays. These are “Such Men are Dangerous,” by Ashley Dukes. It will be followed by “The Chinese Bungalow” •and “Jew Suss,” the latter an adaptation of Herr Feuchtwanger’s famous novel which is being done by Mr. Dukes. Before the season started Mr. Lang said: “I hope that we shall interest the public in something which will show that drama and the art of the theatre are not dead. I am looking tor strong, dramatic plays.”
