YOUNGEST CANDIDATE
FOR UNITED PARTY TWO NEW MEN IN FIELD (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, To-day. Two of the newest candidates of the United Party are Mr. A. B. Sievwright and Mr. C. Black. Mr. Black will be the party’s youngest candidate. He is just 24 years of age. For five years past he has been committee clerk to the Goldfields and Mines Committee, and since 1925 he has acted as clerk to select committees on public finance. He has worked with such committees as the one which investigated the Motor Vehicles Regulations, and the Joint Samoan Investigation Committee. He was born in Reefton, and will contest the Motueka electorate against Mr. R. P. Hudson. Mr. A. B. Sievwright is to stand for Otaki against Mr. W. H. Field. Mr. Sievwright is a Wellington barrister and has twice contested Wellington city seats in the Liberal interest. Originally he was invited to be a candidate for the Walrarapa seat.
