T>r. and Mrs*. Ifemmen arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. D. Meikle arrived in Auckland this morning from the South by the Limited. Mr. Justice Ostler and Mr. Justice Blair have been appointed to the first division of the Court of Appeal.—l*.A. Mr. Henry Hayward, managing director of the Fuller-Hayward Pictures, left for Sydney by the Ulimaroa today. Mr. Walter Monk, who has been touring with the Percy Hutchison Company, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited. Mr. E. A. Brown has been reappointed to be the representative of the Society of Accountants on the Council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Sergeant S. A. Brown, of the Queen's Wharf station, has been appointed to take charge of the Newmarket Police Station in su*-cession to Sergeant Hock, who has retired. Mr. J. D. Simpson, assistant manager •>f the Liverpool, London and Globe Insurance Company, who arrived from Flngland recently, left for Wellington last evening. He was accompanied by Mr. W. H. Cowper, New Zealand manager. Mr. J. A. Sparks, sear., of Te Kuiti, the popular conductor and producer for the Te Kuiti Operatic Society, who was taken suddenly ill and operated on at the Waikato Hospital on Sunday night, is now making satisfactory progress toward recovery.
