CAUSE OF GIRLS’ DOWNFALL REV. LIONEL FLETCHER’S SERIOUS CHARGES (Special to THE BUHI WHANGAHEI, Thursday. The statement that many men who visit cabarets in Neit Zealand carry* hip-flasks containing one-third wins and two-thirds whisky, was made by the Rev. Lionel Fletcher in the course of an address at the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr. Fletcher said girls who innocently accompanied such men into motor-cars and drank this liquor believing it to be only wine fell victims to the hip-flask carriers. Many girls from good families had fallen in this way, said the speaker, who declared that he possessed ampin proof to justify his words.
