Mark Nicholls Denies Reports of Dissension Among All Blacks
WING-FORWARD’S DAY DONE
Reed. 12.16 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. 1 Speaking at the welcome to the New South Wales Rugby team, which has just returned from New Zealand, Mark Nicholls, the only All Black present, took the opportunity of denying the reports of dissensions among the members of the team during the African tour. He particularly refuted the suggestion that the captain and himself had been at loggerheads. Electric Cable Fire.—The City Fire Brigade received a call at six o’clock this morning to the corner of Khyber Pass Road and Grafton Road, where an electric cable had fused. The pavement was slightly damaged, but nothing else was harmed. Schoolboy Hurt.—Through a fall from a gymnasium horse at the Seddon Memorial Technical College last evening, Reginald Jorden, aged 15, of 2 Stewards Road, Mount Albert, broke his arm and was taken to hospital by the St. John Ambulance. His condition is now satisfactory.
“Brownlie and I are great friends. We differed in our opinions regarding football matters at times, but these were brushed aside on the field, where the team always was whole-hearted in its desire to further the fame of New Zealand. “He expressed the opinion that as a result of the tour, the New Zealand football authorities would be convinced that the day of the wingforward was over.” FOR TIRED WORKERS—“PRICE’S” DRINKS In town and conn try alike, summer's heat is depressing and tiring to those whose days are spent in hard work.
