WATCHES STOLEN FROM CASE
SEALS AND WIRES UNBROKEN (Special to THE SUN) DUNEDIN Wednesday. About 14 dozen Swiss watches were stolen from a case containing 30 dozen during the journey from Geneva to Dunedin. When the case arrived, it seemed to be in sound order. It was securely nailed, and bound with wires carrying seals, which were unbroken. It was discovered, however, that r -he tin lining at one end had been neatly cut round, and nearly half the contents extracted. It is not thought that the theft took place on the steamer, as it would have been practically impossible to carry it out on shipboard in the clever manner in which, it .was executed*
