LIMERICK IS OUT
BADLY-CRACKED HEEL RETURNING TO-MORROW Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Wireless information was received from Sydney to-night that F. D. Jones, the trainer of Limerick, states that the Limond gelding is suffering from a badly “cracked” heel and he will return home by the boat leaving on Friday without doing any more racing. The announcer also stated that Limerick started favourite in the Craven Plate and after disputing the lead for a mile he failed to come on in the straight. Amounis secured a good run on the rails and won easily. J. Munro rode Amounis and E. Bartle was on Prince Humphrey. Limerick finished fourth. A gale blew at Randwick all day and the w'eather was cold, the ladies turning out in fur coats instead of spring frocks.
