WOMAN MOTORIST HURT

CAR STRUCK BY TRAIN (Special to THE SUN) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. A sedan car driven by Miss Kelly, of Auckland, was struck at the Tariki level-crossing by a passenger train proceeding from Wanganui to New Plymouth. Miss Kelly was slightly injured. The only other passenger, Mr. E. J. Arlow, an employee of Nathans, Ltd., Wellington, who owned the car, escaped with a few bruises. Miss Kelly did not slacken her speed as she neared the crossing. Fortunately the train was slowing down at the station. The cow-catcher of the engine struck the rear of the car, swung it round and dashed it against the oattle-stop. The motor was badly damaged. Miss Kelly was taken to a private hospital at Stratford for treatment.
