“STIFFY AND MO”
AT ST. JAMES ON MONDAY
Stiffy and Mo. two of the most i popular comedians Auckland has ever j known, will return to St. James Theatre on Monday next. The show, which will be presented by Mr. Nat Phillips, will be known as the “Whirligigs,” and judging by reports from other centres, is a great laughing contest. This will be the first of a series, of revues by these popular comedians, lasting over several weeks. The cast, headed by Roy Rene and Nat Phillips, includes Amy Rochelle, Jack Kelleway, Peter Brooks, Daisy Merrett, Sadie Gale, Dan Weldon, Dan Dunbar and Sylvia Garder. A first-class jazz band, known as the Charlston Symphonic Six, will be a feature of the entertainment, not forgetting the Whirligigs’ Exquisite Ballet. Popular prices of 3s, 2s and Is have been decided on for this show, and booking opens to-morrow. The grand circle can be booked for the opening night and Saturdays only.
Lane Chandler has been assigned to the cast of “Dirigible,” Paramount’s third air Special which will tell the story of a giant air liner. John Monk. Sounders, the author of “Wings.” and Jean de Limur, a former French A\artime aviator, are collaborating on the story. William Wellman will direct.
