MT. ROSKILL’S PLANS The jubilee of the Mount Roskill j Public School is being commemorated i this year and in order to mark the j event suitably a scheme is afoot to raise funds toward the improvement of the school grounds and The formation of playing areas on the large piece of land on which the school is built. Already the stall and scholars have subscribed £6O which carries a pound for pound subsidy from the Education Board. A further sum of £lO3 has been contributed for the purpose of establishing a dental clinic, but the Education Department does not consider that the time is opportune for the undertaking. As however, the money has been raised for a specific purpose, the committee decided at its meeting last evening to keep faith with subscribers and will not divert the money to any other object. Mr. Benfell was elected a member of the School Committee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the Rev. D. J. Murray.
