TOWN-PLANNING SCHEME
MOUNT EDEN REPORT FURTHER INVESTIGATION Brief mention was made at the Mount Eden Borough Council meeting last evening of the town-planning scheme recently drawn up by the borough engineer. When a memorandum from the works committee was produced, saying that with several slight amendments the preliminary report of the engineer had been approved, a councillor cautioned the meeting that full investigation should be made. He had no complaint to make, but complications might arise, he said, under the new Town Planning Act. The meeting decided to refer the report to the finance committee, which will have power to seek legal advice.
The meeting, in receiving a letter from the Auckland City Council advising that the city’s town planning committee would consider any mutual problem in planning schemes, decided that it was prepared to discuss questions with city representatives.
