WAIPAHI BRINGS LAST OF ISLAND FRUIT 15,000 CASES OF ORANGES Bringing the last of this season’s fruit from the Cook Islands, the Waioahi, which berthed this afternoon, made the fastest and best trip since the season began, from Raratonga to Auckland.

Her time from Raratonga was six days 9i hours, a record for the season, and she met good weather all the way. The fruit, collected at the islands of Aitutakl, Jtfauke, Atiu, Mangaia and Raratonga. consisted of 15,000 cases of oranges, 500 cases of bananas, 6,000 oases of tomatoes and 160 tons of copra.

This is the last of the Cook Island fruit, the season having begun in May, and the Waipahi’s next trip will be to Suva.

The ship carried no passengers except the two daughters of Captain Vellenoweth, agent for the Cook ■Wands Administration at Aitutaki.
