AUCKLAND EAST SEAT

Supporters of the United Party in the Auckland East electorate met last evening *n St. Andrew’s Hall, when tho party's official candidate. Mr. J. B, Donald, gave an address criticising the Reform Party’s legislation. The speaker condemned the method of dealing with the unemployment problem, and said that it was necessary to formulate a sound land policy. He contended that high existing tariff was responsible for the high cost of living.

Dr. W. H- Horton. who presided, made reference to the candidate's business career in Auckland, and urged electors to secure his return. Votes of thanks and confidence were carried.
