COMMUNITY SINGING

The chairman of the Community Singing Executive Committee. Mr. M. Guthrie, reported to the annual meeting that the season just concluded had been very successful in every way. The executive would meet next February to make arrangements for the 1929 season, and to compile the new song-book. The committee recorded its appreciation of the generous response of the public, the net result of which was £ll9. This sum had been distriouted among several unendowed charities in and around the city. Resolutions thanking the honorary accompanists for their services, members of the Rotary Club and the St. Vincent De Paul Society for # their assistance, and Messrs. Fuller-Hay-ward for the use of the Strand Theatre for the season, were passed.
