NEW CEMENT WORKS

PROJECT AT GOLDEN BAY Among the passengers on the Ulimaroa, which arrived in Auckland this morning, was Mr. G. Warren, of Victoria, who has arrived to superintend the construction of cement works at Golden Bay. Mr. Warren, who represents the Australian firm of Hounslrup and Co., that has secured the contract for the works, recently completed the building of works at Geelong, near Melbourne. “I have yet to see the principals of the New Zealand company,” he told a Sun representative this morning, “but I anticipate that the work will begin as soon as I can get on the job. I estimate that it will take from 10 to 12 months.”
