ELECTION YEAR

QLD Pitaroa is standing the strain of years and racing remarkably well, if appearances can be taken as an indication in this direction, and Sam Roe has the Petereta gelding looking nice and bright. He cannot, however, hope to effect any improvement from a pace point of view and unless the adjusters in the province take a more lenient view of his long past there will not be much chance of the ancient pony paying for his keep. Pitaroa must be almost eligible for a vote this year.
