FANCY DRESS DANCE
FAREWELL TO MISS JOHNSON On Saturday evening a pretty fancy dress dance was given in Scots Hail by Miss Mabel Johnson to over 300 of her pupils. Miss Johnson received her guests dressed in a frock of black taffeta and beaded net, and she carried a bouquet of red anemones and sweet peas, which had been presented to her by her pupils. A minuet was danced during the evening by 20 of the seniors in costume. They entered into the spirit of the dance, and performed it with delightful poise and rhythm. Partnered by Mr. Hutchinson, Miss Johnson gave an exhibition of the ballroom Yale Blues. Afterwards 12 couples gave another attractive performance. The finals of the senior classes' competition was held, and the winners of the two classes were Joyce Carlew and lan Moir, and Irene Isaacs and Arthur Siddel. Later in the evening a presentation was made to Miss Johnson of a pair of opera glasses. •
