MAORI FISHERMAN DROWNED
Press Association FOXTON, To-day. A Maori named Ruapaha Kemp, a single man of 30, who lived in the Wanganui River settlement, was drowned at Manawatu Heads on Saturday evening. Deceased was whitebait-fishing when his boat drifted from the shore and he stripped off and swam after it, disappearing a short distance from the bank. His body has not yet been recovered.
