Bishop Cherrington left for Wellington by tho Limited last evening. Mr. F. H. Lass was a passenger from Wellington by the first express this morning. The Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher returned this morning from a visit to Wellington. Sir Robert Stout is S 4 years old today. Tu-morrow Lady Stout will celebrate her birthday. Mr. I*. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, returned to Auckland this morning from Wellington. Dr. F. Rayner, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. W. J. flow. Chief Postmaster, Auckland, is at present on leave. He is being relieved by Mr. J. J. Kearney, assistant-postmaster. Mr. H. H. Dure, who has been investigating the City Council’s water development schemes, will sail to-day on his return journey to Sydney. Dr. D. M. McCormick was last evening appointed to tho position of medical officer to tho Auckland City Council. There were 17 applicants. Mr. J. W. Mawson, the newly-ap-pointed Director of Town Planning to the Government, arrived in Wellington on Wednesday by the lonic.—P.A. Mr. Justice Smith will address the members of the Auckland Advertising Club at the fortnightly luncheon to be held in the Lewis Eady Hall next Tuesday, Mr. J. D. Simpson, assistant-manager for the Liverpool, London and Globe Insurance Company, will arrive in Auckland from Sydney on Tuesday. He will make a tour of New Zealand. Messrs. W. J. Potter, president of the Auckland Institute of Real Estate Agents, T. Mclndoe, P. L. Crump, Albert W. Clark and W. J. A. Thompson will leave Auckland on Tuesday evening for Wanganui, where they will represent the institute at the annual New Zealand conference. Messrs.
