PILLION-RIDING

NOW ALLOWED BY CITY After having been an offence against the city by-laws for many years, pillion riding will now be allowed under certain restrictions. The City Council adopted a recommendation to frame a new by-law last evening, the provisions being in conformity with those in the new motor regulations. The new provision, adopted without comment, was as follows: “In any case where two persons are riding or are being carried upon any motor-cycle, whether with or without a side-car attached, when such motorcycle is in motion, each such person shall be seated upon a properly constructed seat and his feet shall rest and be placed on proper footrests ,which are securely fixed to such motor-cycle.”
