ONEHUNGA CONCERT
PLUNKET SOCIETY’S SUCCESS The Foresters’ Theatre, Onehunga, was' completely filled last evening, when the local branch of the Plunket Society held its annual concert to raise funds for carrying on their work. A first-class programme was arranged by Mr. E. V. Sutherland, in which the following artists took part: Misses Laura Walker, Iris Blewden, Beryl Smith, and Jessamine Kirkwood: Messrs. Frank E. Sutherland, Birrell O’Malley, George Swan (of Wanganui), and Professor Dalmaine. The items by the pupils of the Onehunga, Te Papapa, and Convent school* were admirably rendered and highly appreciated. The Mayor, Mr. W. C. Coldicutt, notified that the financial results of the concert were highly satisfactory, and would enable the society to continue its useful work in educating mothers in the care of young children. The committee of the society, togetner with Miss M. Robb (secretary), wet® entitled to the best thanks of the**“}* munity in furthering the physical we fare of the rising generation.
