PUKEKOHE BOROUGH

LOAN FOR WATERWORKS (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Tuesday. The Pukekohe Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor. Mr. J. Routly, presiding. The town clerk was asked to make arrangements for a poll of ratepayers in November on a proposal to raise £8,500 for waterworks extensions. The Minister of Public Works Intimated that so far no unemployed in tho Borough of Pukekolie had registered at the Post Office, although arrangements had been made for them to do so. He also stated that the Government had not set aside relief works for Pukekohe unemployed. Advice from the Medical Officer of Health at Auckland wa> to the effect that an analysis of the borough wafer proved it to be pure. The Regional Planning Committee for No. 4 group, which extends from Henderson to Pukekohe, is to be advised that Pukekohe was not taking action regarding regional planning. The committee is to be asked why the area between Fapakura and Pukekohe, a distance of 12 miles, was not linked up also.
