ABATTOIRS LOSE MONEY

TAIHAPE TO APPEAL TO MINISTER (Special to THE SUN) MARTON, Monday. “1 am not at all satisfied about this decision of the Rangitikei County Council to refuse the borough the right to extend its abattoir district into the county,” said Cr. Loader at the meeting of the Taihape Borough Council. It was pointed but that the council had been compelled to erect the abattoirs at a cost of £5,000, and even with high killing fees money was being lost. Only an extended district could save calling upon the consolidated fund to meet the bill. It was resolved to approach the Minister of Agriculture and Mr. W. S. Glenn, M.P., in the hope that the County Council’s decision will be overridden.
